Beaver Creek New Years And Winterfest For Colorado Vacations
Beaver Creek Playground and Resort Room Deals
Most New Year celebrations follow that same old tired routine. You put on your best clean shirt, only to sit alone in your room and watch Beetlejuice for the 100th time, knocking back Capri sun sized packages of pink zinf. When you rise the next day, itchy from sleeping with your socks on yet again, you understand how lame your New Year’s game has become. I mean everyone is different, but this seems pretty universal. Well this year–it’s time to flip that milk-toast script, and celebrate New Year the right way.
Enter the winter playground only found in the Beaver Creek area. Massive slopes, family fun, endless nightlife, and the splendor of the Rockies are sure to interject some new life into those played out New Year’s plans. This week, I’ll take a look at the five reasons to make sure Beaver Creek is on your New Year’s celebration list.
Beaver Creek Playground And Resort Winterfest
Every year we all make those classic New Year resolutions. Lose weight, get a new job, fall in love, find a cool new food allergy, or just stop handing out free passes to people that say the word “audiophile”. If you have a family, your resolution might include fun for the whole group. If that’s the case, do yourself a favor and check out the Beaver Creek Kids’ “Winterfest”. Beaver Creek Winterfest festival is a great Colorado vacation. We have some great deals on Beaver Creek playground and resort. Missouri has Brandson the live entertainment capital of the world, which is also good.
The festival runs every day in Beaver Creek’s Village Plaza, from Dec. 20th through Jan. 3rd, and is the perfect kid friendly spot for your child to take in lively performances, interactive activities, parades, contests, and all manners of winter related fun. Winterfest is themed after the icy kingdom of Winderlund.
And while here, you’ll get to meet Helayna the Ice Princess and Prince Chestnut. But after a little research, I realized this whole thing seems like a lie, and I was unable to find a trace of Winderlund on any map. So proceed with a great deal skepticism.
Annual New Year’s Eve Family Bash (Beaver Creek)
Keep that family friendly vibe going, assuming your kids are still awake and kind of fun, and check out the New Year’s Eve Family Bash. The festivities kick off with a bang–literally, with fireworks starting at 6:45. Head over to the Powder 8 Kitchen & Tap, and find a wealth of fun for all ages. Doors open at 8 pm and the party continues to 1:00 AM, or until you kid start losing their minds, whatever comes first. But I think you know which one that will be.
When the clock strikes midnight, there is a classic balloon drop, but there’s also an earlier one at 10:00 pm to cater to the little ones. Tickets are $40, and available at the door, but make sure you get there early, as this is a very popular event. Children 5 & under are free. Casual food and drinks are available for purchase all night, and a good portion of the ticket prices go to CASA of the Continental Divide, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a voice of advocacy for children of abuse.
Torchlight Parade and Fireworks at Golden Peak (Vail)
Some things just go together perfectly; like peanut butter and jelly, hamburgers and French fries, or the world’s most perfect food; the Pizzeria Pretzel Combo. Sorry guys, I’m really hungry over here. In Vail, the Torchlight Parade is as classic as a New Year’s champagne toast.
The Town of Vail celebrates its rich skiing heritage, and general love of celebration things, by cheering on hundreds of red glow stick clad skiers down the famed Golden Peak. The effect is truly majestic, as the train of mountain travelers forms a stunning red blur down the side of the slope.
At the same time, Vail lights off a world-class firework display. The best viewing for this event is at the base of Golden Peak. Plus the mounds of discarded glow sticks can be schlepped up the mountain, and sold to drunken partygoers at the DJ fueled after party. So get busy kids, it’s time to earn your keep!
NYE Party In Vail
For those looking for a truly epic night out on the town without the kids, the NYE Party in Vail is definitely the best ticket in town. The Dobson Arena plays host to the biggest party in the Rockies. The attraction here is a the lineup of huge DJs, the likes of which include DJ Logic, DJ Golden b, and DJ Tanner (Ok, had to make sure you were still reading).
The party kicks off at 9 pm and goes till 1:30 am, and prices start at $99. Platinum VIP passes are available for $399 and include having your face close to the speakers, champagne toast, complimentary food, and some serious swag, at least I would assuming. It seems pricey, but if you have kids with fast hands and strong backs, you can easily trade in those piles of glow sticks to get in the door.
