Top 5 Tuesday: Beaver Creek Resort
Stunning views of the Rockies, world-class skiing, and an endless list of topnotch dining and shopping options ensures I can only be talking about Beaver Creek, CO on the blog this week. And when you stay in this pristine alpine setting, there is really only one resort to stay at—The Wyndham Beaver Creek.
Set on the shores of Eagle Creek, and nestled next to the imposing heights of the Rocky Mountains, this elegantly elevated resort is your mountain getaway. The accommodations at the Wyndham Beaver Creek very much fit the theme of the area. Studios, one, two, and three bedroom presidential units provide the rustic warmth of a ski lodge, with all the modern touches you desire. On top of the obvious luxuriousness, the convenience of condominium style units truly sets this resort apart. Fully equipped kitchens, in suite washer/dryer, romantic gas light fireplaces, and inviting balconies will ensure this is your home away from home.
There are so many reasons Tripbound is proud to list the Wyndham Beaver Creek Resort among it’s portfolio of resorts, that it’s hard to do it justice. But I’ll do my damnedest to try. So relax, Pumpkin Spice Lattes don’t’ come out for a couple of weeks yet, so I know you have nothing better to do than read the Top 5 reasons to stay at the Wyndham Beaver Creek Resort.
Beaver Creek Ski Area:
It almost goes without saying, but the true hero of here is the world renowned Beaver Creek Ski Area. Mile after mile of championship level ski trails wait to challenge even the most seasoned skier in your group; and everyone in between. But no matter how you like to throw yourself down a really tall mountain, Beaver Creek has you covered. You’ll find so much to do here, that this destination is truly primed for year round adventure. Lightening quick mountain bike trails, leisurely horseback riding paths, babbling brooks filled with trout, and high country golf courses give you the chance to get out and really experience the beauty and majesty of these mountains. Of course the Wyndham Beaver Creek Resort sets you up for these adventures as well. Staying here you are within walking distance of the Riverfront Gondola Express, which offers free transportation directly to the ski area. The resort also offers a complimentary shuttle directly to the Beaver Creek Ski area entrance. Convenient ski storage lockers and ski valet services are available to make getting to the mountain as simple as walking out your front door.
Besides rivaling the Beaver Creek Ski area in excellence, Vail is also one of the coolest (seasonably speaking at least) mountain towns around. It’s pretty much like being in a Stetson commercial, but a lot better smelling. And with nearly 100 shops, boutiques, and retail stores, there is enough split grain leather for everyone. If outfitting your ski trip is on you to do list, then Vail delivers again. Patagonia, North Face, and Salomon operate flagship stores are here, so why even choose? Just wear them on top of each other and make yourself into outdoor adventure “turducken”. Whether your palate seeks fine French dining or just a freshly baked pastry, the options are expansive. Located only 10 miles from the Wyndham Beaver Creek, the short drive to Vail is definitely worth a little detour.
The Rockies: Part Duex
When you think of the Rockies, the first thing that comes to your mind is skiing. Which makes sense, especially with the spectacular slopes I’ve already touched on. But if you love whitewater rafting, fly-fishing, world-class golf, or an exhilarating mountain hike, then you should definitely rethink your picture of the Rockies. Try to tame the mighty Eagle River with a rafting or kayak trip at Whitewater Park in Avon, CO. Over 350’ of raging rapids will repeatedly try to kill you, so buckle up cowboy! Sections on the river range from Class IV-III rapids (basically from “Why did I do this” to “I never thought this is how I’d die”). Trade your paddles in for some sweet plaid shorts and clubs at any of the (3) championship caliber golf course. The unholy triumvirate of evil golf architects, Robert Trent Jones, Greg Norman, Tom Fazio, will welcome your pitiful attempt to beat their courses with hellfire and nicely sculpted greens. The nearby towns of Wolcott, Red Cliff, Minturn, and Eagle treat visitors to amazing views of snowcapped mountains and real slice of Colorado life.
It’s hard to top the show nature has put on here, but the amenities at the Wyndham Beaver Creek Resort sure don’t hurt. A fully equipped fitness center lets you keep that workout routine going, or at minimum—it’s a pretty good place to hide from the rest of the family. Slipping into the indoor hot tub is the perfect way to warm up after a long day on the slopes. Take a break in the finely appointed owners lounge, and enjoy a well-deserved libation or nightcap. An onsite convenience store and retail outlet will make sure the forgotten toothbrush incident won’t escalate into bad breath. The Wyndham Beaver Creek is all about giving you the total alpine vacation experience, and the amenities here are just further proof.
Republican or democrat; I think we can all agree that presidential style accommodations is change we can believe in. And that’s exactly what you’ll get when you stay at the Wyndham Beaver Creek Resort. The 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom Presidential Suites are your gateway to the perfect vacation. Since you’re probably not a land baron, you care about luggage fees. So does the Beaver Creek Resort. That’s why they give you the option to pack less, by offering in suite laundry services. Full sized kitchens are equipped with everything you need to toss up a perfect Denver omelet in the morning. Either floor plan gives you and your guests’ substantial space to spread out. One-bedroom units (Sleeps 4, 1000-1053 sf) are perfect for couples and small families, while, two-bedroom layouts (Sleep 8, 1267-1510sf) let you bring along the grandparents, babysitter, or doppelgänger; should you be lucky enough to have one. Private sleeping areas and bathrooms create a sense of seclusion for everyone. Finish it off with the warm glow of a marble encased fireplace, and you’ve really got a room that has it all.
