If it seems like every one of your Facebook friends is tanned from their family vacation, you’re not far off. But never fear, there’s still time to take off and get a summer glow! This Tuesday, Tripbound has compiled a list of affordable, available, and family-friendly vacations. Aside from the amazing resorts, these destinations also have multi-generational attraction and appeal, making them the ultimate getaways for the entire gang.

Top 5: End-of-Summer Family Fun

Fort Lauderdale, Florida:

You can’t have family fun without fun in the Florida sun. Shedding its rowdy reputation, the wide, soft-sands of Fort Lauderdale now beckon a different kind of play. For 23 miles of Atlantic beaches, children’s museums, and the Everglades, look no further than Fort Lauderdale.

South Lake Tahoe, California/Nevada:

No snow in Tahoe? S’no problem! Whatever the season, this California/Nevada vacation destination offers an abundance of outdoor activities, as well as awe-inspiring views of the stunning, blue lake. Whether you’re paddle boarding, hiking the Rubicon trail, floating down a mountain river in an inner tube, or riding up a mountain peak in a gondola, there’s always adventure at Lake Tahoe.

Riviera Maya, Mexico:

The Caribbean shores just south of Cancun will have your family saying “Olé“!  Snorkeling excursions, eco-adventure parks such as Xel-Ha, and exploring the Mayan ruins, mixed with resting and relaxing on the Caribbean coastline,  make Playa del Carmen the perfect place for families. For a sunny location vacation, there is plenty of excitement and experience to be made in Mexico.

Sedona, Arizona:

For a playground off-the-beaten-path, grab your gang and your gear and head to Sedona. The entire family can have fun riding through ruins, gulches, and ancient rock art on a Pink Jeep Tour or gliding down a natural water slide at Slide Rock State Park. With Red Rock adventure as far as the eye can see, Sedona, Arizona should be America’s outdoor amusement park.

Williamsburg, Virginia:

Vacation and education go hand in hand in America’s Historic Triangle.  With a 301-acre living history museum, commonly known as Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, the James River, and Water Country USA, it’s no wonder Williamsburg is known as the “Kids’ Corner of Virginia”. When your family winds up in Williamsburg, you’ll learn a lesson or two in hand-on history and family fun.

Now you know, family-fun and last-minute travel can go hand in hand. With summer specials going on NOW in all 5 of these family-fun destinations,  there’s no better time to grab the gang and  travel with Tripbound!
